Intermarriage - (Eagle and Wolf Clan)

This print represents a young couple getting married. Wolf as a young man had to leave his village in search of a bride. The reason for the search was to make sure that his bride would not be related. Wolf met a young Eagle woman, and they fell in love and got married. This limited edition print titled "Intermarriage" by George David was published in 2005. It was hand produced by the screen-printing process. The artist has checked every copy in the edition. The edition consists of 70 signed and numbered copies, 5 artist proofs and 1 printer's proof. All other trial copies have been destroyed and the printing stencils obliterated. This design is copyrighted and it is the only limited edition of this design.

George David

George was born on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, in the village of Clayoquot. He lived there seven years before his family relocated to the Seattle, Washington area. George's parents are Hyacinth and Winnefred David. All members of the David family are skilled artists. George is an internationally acclaimed Native American Master Carver. He has studied and carves in many Northwest Coast styles: Nuu-chah-nulth, Makah, Tlingit, Haida, Tsimshian,, Bella Coola, Kwagiulthh. "I owe much of my learning to such artists as Joe David, Ron Hamilton, and Art Thompson." George David works with a variety of mediums including: wood - ceremonial masks, headdresses, and rattles; twenty to thirty foot totem poles; hand carved panels from cedar (any size), hide - drums, all individually designed and hand painted, ivory - three dimensional carvings, silver and gold - bracelets, pendants, pins, and earrings.
